One City Church

Friends + Family!

Well here we are. It’s November now of 2019! For those of you who have been following, JD and I came on staff at Cherry Hills Community Church as church planting residents in January of 2019. Since then, we have prayed a LOT, learned a LOT, made partnerships with organizations like Thousand Churches Network, STADIA, and are others within the Denver area and beyond.

On a flight back from London where we attended the Alpha Conference, we nailed down the name for our church. We felt convicted that we wanted our church to be FOR God, glorifying to Him, but also full of HOPE and LIFE for ALL people. That was when we read Ephesians 4:

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

That was when we found our name: One City Church.

We believe that God wants to launch a church that will serve the city, and set a pace for a generation. One City will be life-giving, Spirit-filled, servant-oriented, and worshipful.

The plan is to launch Q4 for 2020. We believe that God’s mission is three-fold:

• To help every one know God.

• To serve the poor in spirit and circumstance.

• To lift the next generation of leaders.

Since we have named the church life has been, shall we say, full board. We are building a team, praying for our church, fundraising, and trying to act like we know what we are doing! I have said “Jesus take the wheel” more times in the last month than in my entire life.

We look forward to moving into the city of Denver. We look ahead to all that God will do. We believe the best is yet to come.
